{"id":20321,"date":"2017-09-14T15:10:17","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T15:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aaeurop.com\/?p=20321"},"modified":"2017-09-14T15:10:17","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T15:10:17","slug":"european-parliament-condemns-azerbaijans-attempts-to-influence-european-decision-makers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aaeurop.com\/?p=20321","title":{"rendered":"European Parliament condemns Azerbaijan\u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u0549\u0084\u00a7s attempts to influence European decision-makers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The recent \u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u056d\u009cAzerbaijani Laundromat\u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u0549\u0084\u00a7 revelations should be investigated and the \u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u056d\u009cMagnitsky\u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u0549\u0084\u00a7 sanctions list adopted by the EU, urged MEPs on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>MEPs condemned the recent \u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u056d\u009cAzerbaijani Laundromat\u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u0549\u0084\u00a7 revelations, \u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u056a\u0093attempts by Azerbaijan and other autocratic regimes in third countries to influence European decision-makers through illicit means\u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u0539\u009d, in a resolution approved by 578 votes, to 19, with 68 abstentions.<\/p>\n<p>The European Parliament should investigate and adopt robust measures to prevent such corruption occurring, they add.<\/p>\n<p>Petras Austrevicius (ALDE, LT), rapporteur, said: \u0569\u00a7\u0549\u0082-\u056a\u0093With Lux Leaks, Panama Leaks, Russia and Azerbaijan Laundromats, we realise that corruption stretches far across state borders, and has dramatic repercussions on policy decisions.
