\nJournalists are not terrorists. The justice system in Turkey has failed its journalists. <\/b><\/p>\n
This is why want your support to make an urgent appeal against the life sentences given to four Turkish journalists F\u0569\u0083\u0539\u0536sun Erdo\u0569\u0084\u056a\u0534an, Ziya Ulusoy, Bayram Namaz , Ibrahim Cicek on 2 November. They are not just facing a life sentence; they are condemned to 3.000 years imprisonment under the anti-terrorism law in Turkey.<\/b> On the same trial, another journalist Sedat \u0569\u0085\u056a\u0537eno\u0569\u0084\u056a\u0534lu was sentenced to seven-and-a -half year in prison. They were all accused of being a member of the Marxist organisation (MLKP) that is considered illegal by the Turkish government.<\/p>\n
To date, at least 59 journalists in Turkey were jailed<\/b> and most of them were changed under the Turkey anti-terrorism law. They have committed no crime but fulfiled their roles as journalists.<\/p>\n
Please help us achieve justice for journalists in Turkey. <\/b>Together we call for an urgent appeal of the life sentences given to these journalists and the swift review of cases in which journalists are imprisoned because of their profesional works.
